Lemon Essential Oil Uses & Benefits

Home / Wellness / Lemon Essential Oil Uses & Benefits

You can probably already smell it. It’s a familiar smell, but the purity that comes with lemon essential oil cannot be duplicated, even by the best manufacturers. Nice try, Mr. Clean! It’s also one of the 10 must-have oils everyone needs in their home.

Before you ask, the answer is NO, lemon essential oil and lemon juice are not the same. Lemon essential oil is cold pressed from the rind of the fruit, leaving you with a highly concentrated, volatile oil with lots of benefits for you health and your home. This also means that it should not be treated like lemon juice and used as a flavoring agent on a regular basis in your water. There are lots of reasons to incorporate this oil into your daily life though!

Practical uses for lemon essential oil:

  • Cleanses and purifies the air and surfaces
  • Naturally cleanses the body and aids in digestion
  • Supports healthy respiratory function
  • Promotes a positive mood and cognitive ability
  • Helps ward off free radicals with its antioxidant benefits
  • Soothes an irritated throat

Emotionally, lemon essential oil is known as The Oil of Focus. It helps address mental fatigue, mild confusion, and can help improve focus. It promotes feelings of joy and happiness and promotes playfulness.

Lemon essential oil is found in these blends: Respiratory Blend, Invigorating Blend, Metabolic Blend, and Cleansing Blend.

Caution: Lemon essential oil is photosensitive which means you need to avoid direct sunlight for 12-24 hours after use. Some people are not impacted, but it’s better safe than sorry.

How do you use lemon essential oil in your home?

Essential Oil Quality: The essential oil industry is not a regulated industry which means it’s difficult to know which brands you can trust to be truly 100% certified pure therapeutic grade and safe for your whole family. I did my research to find a brand I can trust. If you want to learn about the brand I personally use or order essential oils for your home, please email oils@halfwayholistic.com
