We don’t like mosquito spray. You know the kind, where you feel like you need a shower after applying. According to a Duke Pharmacologist, “frequent and heavy use of DEET, especially in combination with other chemicals or medications, could cause brain deficits in vulnerable populations.”
DEET is a toxic ingredient, but my wife not only attracts mosquitoes, but swells up with awful bites. Doing nothing isn’t an option, but we prefer a safe, cheap and effective alternative.
Thankfully, there’s an essential oil blend that is effective and naturally repels insects. It’s even safe enough to use on our 15 month old and in the homemade flea collar we use on our dog.
Practical uses for TerraShield Repellent Blend essential oil:
- Helps ward off insects
- Safe to use on the whole family
- Diffuse when gathering outdoors
- Apply directly to skin or mix 30 drops in a glass spray bottle with distilled/boiled water and/or witch hazel
- Spray around windows and doorways

Essential Oil Quality: The essential oil industry is not a regulated industry which means it’s difficult to know which brands you can trust to be truly 100% pure therapeutic grade and safe for your whole family. I did my research to find a brand I can trust. If you want to learn about the brand I personally use or order essential oils for your home, please email email@example.com
